    historical charm
    friendly staff
    hot water issues

Had an amazing time with my friends! The castle's history was fascinating, and we explored the beautiful grounds while enjoying local sights like Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was charming—perfect for a group getaway. Just a heads-up, you can drive to catch the bus, which takes about 35 minutes to downtown.

The hot water boiler had issues during our stay, leaving us without hot water for a bit in the morning, which was a bit inconvenient.

    tricky transport

omg if ur lookin for a beautiful getaway this is it! we stayed for 2 nights in this gorgeous castle n it was just amazin. we got treated like royalty by the staff who were super friendly n helpful. the food was to die for, both breakfast and dinner were top-notch! the grounds were massive and my dog loved runnin around. def recommend staying here!

the only tiny issue was that getting into edinburgh took a bit longer than expected, and our room was a bit cold at night.

    elegant decor
    expansive grounds
    comfortable atmosphere
    accessibility issue
    limited assistance

I was truly delighted by the elegant decor throughout Melville Castle Hotel, which exuded both charm and comfort. The castle's grounds were expansive and provided a delightful setting for leisurely strolls, making it a perfect retreat for seniors.

Improved accessibility for senior guests would be beneficial.

    buzzing noise

    Unique charm with some quirks

Had a fun stay! The place is beautifully decorated with some fab art pieces and the gardens are super nice for walks. Our room was spacious but the buzzing noise made it hard to sleep well. Breakfast was pretty decent too. Could've used more staff at dinner time though, it was a bit hectic.

Target audience seeking a charming stay

I have to say the grounds are simply beautiful. Like stepping into a fairytale! Plus, breakfast was phenomenal, with a lovely buffet featuring haggis and sausages. You can tell they take pride in their food.

It wasn't exactly cheap but still manageable.
